Introducing the FVM Imaginarium
The launch of the Filecoin Virtual Machine (FVM) is quickly approaching, but there are already amazing projects in development. The FVM Imaginarium Campaign is putting the spotlight on the teams who are building incredible use cases and introducing new opportunities and concepts on FVM. The first highlighted is Magmo, a development studio and research team who is working on porting State Channels to the FVM. Check out the feature!

Coindesk Predicts the Future of Filecoin
According to Coindesk’s 2023 Predictions, Filecoin will become a “fully fledged layer 1 protocol in its own right, paving the way for the world’s largest decentralized data economy.” With the launch of the Filecoin Virtual Machine coming in spring 2023, builders will be able to create a new wave of use cases for the Web3 space.
ICYMI: Announcing Space Warp
The Space Warp program was launched to inspire developers to build with the new FEVM and unlock its vast potential in shaping the future of the data economy. Across grants, hackathon and more support programs for builders, the initiative aims to accelerate the development of new value-adding apps on the Filecoin network in preparation for FEVM mainnet launch in 2023. Fleek Closes 2022 With Huge Announcements
Fleek met the end of the year with several achievements. The team completed a $25M Series A led by Polychain and key backers in the decentralized storage ecosystem. In addition, the Fleek Network was announced to patch in content delivery, something that was originally missing in the Web3 infrastructure stack. The team also revealed a new Web3 development platform - protocol agnostic, non-custodial, and open-source.
Introducing Filecoin Chair
In collaboration with Tableland, the Filecoin Chair is an initiative that provides supplemental support and funding for teams building joint use cases between Tableland and Filecoin. Teams interested in building novel concepts that combine Filecoin’s leading decentralized storage tools with Tableland’s permissionless relational database can apply for the Filecoin Chair position in Pilot Program 3, kicking off on January 23.

The Filecoin Virtual Machine will unlock endless possibilities for innovation on the Filecoin network, and teams are already beginning to build incredible use cases. For those interested in building but aren’t sure where to start, the FVM dev team has created a Request for Startups page that details 24 ideas for systems, apps, and building blocks that are ready to be developed!

Apply to Attend the First-Ever Estuary Party
The community is invited to apply for an exclusive party celebrating the success of Estuary, the “easiest way to put and get your data from Filecoin.” The party takes place at CLIO, Toronto on January 24, and applications to attend the invite-only event are open until January 17. Those who are accepted will receive confirmation within 48 hours.
